They're the ones who saw the star quality before anyone else did,
whether their kids were hamming it up at a talent
show or around the dinner table. Now seven celebrities say thanks
to the women who took them from playtime to
primetime.

Brad on Genevieve: "My fondest childhood
memory is when I would be sick and we would play
cards and watch The Real McCoys and have lunch,
and she would enjoy having a sick day as much as
I did.
The other fond memory I have is - we're both
night owls - everybody in the house would be
asleep, and I would come down and we'd sit in the
kitchen and we'd talk for a long time. The greatest
piece of advice she gave me was to try music and
arts. It's behind every girl I ever asked out,
and certainly why I'm an actor. She was always
completely honest with me about religion and what
was going
on in the world. She didn't treat me like a child."
Genevieve on Brad: "He
was a ham. As a 3-year-old, sitting around the
dining room table with the family, he wouldn't just
tell
us what he had seen on television, he'd act it
out. He's the last child (of five), and he's been
a joy.
And I think we're kindred spirits in that we agree
on things like religion, politics and everything.
We have the same reaction to plays we've seen.
So it's a very positive connection, a really wonderful
thing in my life."
